Prospect Watch: El Paso trailed 3-1 going into the ninth inning until catcher Rodolfo Durán connected on a one-out, three-run, walk-off homer to give El Paso the win. … It was his third homer of the season for the 27-year-old, who signed with the Padres in the off-season after spending the 2024 season in the Royals’ system. Durán has seen action in 10 minor league seasons, spanning 541 games. He has yet to play at the big league level. … Lefty Kyle Hart turned in a solid start, giving up only one run on five hits across five innings. He walked two and struck out six. The 32-year-old has struggled in the big leagues this season but he’s pitched well with El Paso. In seven starts since his demotion, the former KBO star has a 3.67 ERA in 34.1 innings. He struggled to get hitters to chase his slider and sweeper Tuesday, drawing only two swings on offerings outside the zone, but his changeup showed good life. … Righty Eduarniel Núñez pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a walk while striking out a pair of Aces. Núñez once again displayed tantalizing stuff, topping out 100 mph with his fastball, generating six whiffs in the process. The 26-year-old signed with the Padres in the off-season, after spending seven seasons in the Cubs’ system. In 25.1 innings between San Antonio and El Paso, he has struck out 43 of the 102 batters he has faced. … Jason Heyward was 0-for-3 with a strikeout in his fourth rehab outing. The long-time big leaguer got into his first game defensively, logging eight innings. He’s 2-for-16 with seven strikeouts.

Prospect Watch: The Missions, who have been no-hit twice this season, didn’t tally a hit through five innings in this one. The offense then came to life, putting up four runs on three hits in the sixth inning to earn a comeback victory at home. … Romeo Sanabria singled and drove in a run in three trips to the plate. The 23-year-old first baseman hit .333 in April and .329 in May, but thus far, he has struggled in June. Coming to Tuesday’s game, he was just 8-for-48 since June 3. The left-handed hitting first baseman has seen a sharp rise in strikeouts, punching out 15 times in 64 plate appearances. He struck out 11 times during the entire month of May. … Righty Luis Patiño started and looked dominant at times. The former prized prospect completed four innings and allowed just one hit. He walked two and struck out six. The 25-year-old threw 63 pitches, 40 for strikes. In four appearances with the Missions, Patiño has a 0.57 ERA in 15.2 innings. … Enmanuel Pinales took over for Patiño and tossed two innings to earn his third win as a Mission. The 24-year-old wasn’t especially sharp, allowing two runs on four hits while walking two and striking out three. He needed 55 pitches to get through his two innings. After dominating with the TinCaps to start the season, Pinales struggled initially with the Missions, but he over his last 21.1 innings, he has a 2.95 ERA.

Prospect Watch: The TinCaps trailed 6-1 before making things interesting in late innings while losing their series opener in Dayton. … First baseman Ethan Long singled and connected on his fourth homer of the year in the loss. The former ASU slugger has shown flashes this season with the TinCaps but has mostly struggled at the plate. He came into Tuesday’s game mired in a 2-for-20 slump. Overall, Long is hitting just .203/.294/.294 for the TinCaps this season. … Brandon Butterworth had just one hit, but it left the yard. It was the fourth of the season for the Fort Wayne infielder. The former NC State shortstop has homered twice in his last four games. Otherwise, he’s struggled offensively in June. In 13 June games, Butterworth is hitting .175/.186/.351. … Righty Ian Koenig made the start and struggled to keep the ball in the yard. The 24-year-old righty allowed three homers in his 4.2 innings of work. Overall, he allowed six runs on seven hits. He walked two and didn’t record a strikeout. In 11 starts, the Camarillo, California native has a 6.65 ERA. … Lefty Fernando Sanchez took over for Koenig and was nearly perfect in 3.1 innings of work. He walked one and struck out two. The 24-year-old from Sonora has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen this season and the results have been excellent. In 27 innings for the TinCaps, Sanchez has a 2.33 ERA while allowing opposing hitters to bat .228.
Roster Moves: The organization made a series of infield moves to start the week. Ryan Jackson came to Fort Wayne from the Storm, where he produced an outstanding .442 on-base percentage while leading the league in walks. Jose Sanabria was sent back to the ACL in a corresponding roster move while shortstop Yimy Tovar went from the ACL to Lake Elsinore. The TinCaps also sent Jake Snider up to San Antonio to bolster the Missions’ thin outfield.

Prospect Watch: The Storm were blown out by the Quakes in the series opener up the road in Rancho Cucamonga. … Right fielder Ryan Wilson had a great day at the plate, reaching base in all four of his plate appearances. Wilson walked twice and had a pair of doubles and added his fifth stolen base of the season for good measure. In his second season with the Storm, the 23-year-old has posted an excellent .380 on-base percentage. He has 10 doubles this season, just one off the career-high he set with the Storm last season. While his slugging percentage is up more than 40 points from last year, it’s still hovering at .333. … Shortstop Yimy Tovar singled and stole a base in his first game in full-season ball. The 19-year-old performed well in 30 games in the desert this season, hitting .305/.354/.398. … After making his Storm debut in a piggyback role, Kannon Kemp had Tuesday night all to himself, as he made his first Cal League start. The result was very similar to what he produced last week as the Texas native worked five innings. He allowed three runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out four. The 20-year-old has a 4.50 ERA after two outings in the Cal League.

Prospect Watch: The ACL Padres managed just four hits in a loss to the ACL Dodgers. … Kale Fountain had a pair of singles and stole his sixth base of the year. After appearing at first base on Monday, he was back in the designated hitter spot on Tuesday to ease into defensive work. Assuming he can progress to playing in the field regularly, Fountain should be a candidate to make an appearance in Lake Elsinore this season. Fountain has an .814 OPS despite just six extra-base hits in 18 games. … Humberto Cruz tossed a career-high 3.2 innings but allowed three runs, earning his third loss of the year. The talented pitcher gave up five hits and walked two while striking out two. Cruz has slowly stretched out in the desert this season with mixed results. In seven starts, totaling 15.1 innings, Cruz has a 7.04 ERA. … Righty Logan Gillaspie, who hit the big league IL in late April, made his first rehab appearance, working 1.2 innings. He allowed three singles, but got a double play and struck out one to avoid giving up any runs. The reliever has been on the injured list with an oblique strain.
